The knowledgeable staff
The lift wasn't working and we were not informed of this before we arrived. We were staying on the fourth floor and the stairs were extrememely steep. Mum and I had to lug our bags up the flights of stairs with no help from the staff. They just said 'I hope you're feeling strong' and gave us our key. It was quite dangerous as we nearly fell. The lift won't be working for another 12 months they said.
The booking stated breakfast included there was no breakfast or facilities for such we did ask for extra beds which were not put in the rooms and the price was more expensive without the breakfast.
Very friendly ser5vice
Good clean hotel Value for money Owner vey helpfull
Location, WiFi, friendly staff, silence.
Very short bed, cloud air condition, small room, payable safe, small shower.
Perfect localisation, low price, nice staff
room equipment and bathroom were poor, but for this price it wasn't any problem
The location of the hotel is excellent. The small street on which it stands is connected to various others that lead to the different attractions of Madrid - making them an easy walk away. The señor at the reception was very accomodating and tried his best to communicate with us despite the language barrier.
The shower stall is small although manageable. The floors of the room could use some additional sweeping...
We enjoyed the location, just 1 or 2 blocks from the Prado, maybe 3 or 4 blocks to the Thyssen, and a little further to the Reina Sofia. Also, the Off & On tourist bus stops by the Prado, making it easy to buy tickets & travel around the city. Also withing walking distance of Puerto Del Sol & Plaza Mayor; a little further to the royal palace and the cathedral. This is adequate for sleeping in.......
This Hostal is not comparable to any 2 Star hotel we have ever been in. There is no telephone, no clock, the tv has only a couple of Spanish language stations, has 1 hard chair & 1 extremely small "desk". We were there in May 2011 and the air conditioner was turned off (apparently all the air conditioners are turned off until it gets really hot in the summer), so the only way to get cool or to get fresh air was to open the windows (French Doors), and then the traffic noise & boisterous conduct of those on the street were too great for sleeping.
Excelent location, right in the city center, quiet street, walking distance to all major touristic objectives, very close to the Atocha train- station, nice staff.
The location was great and the staff was exceptionally nice and helpful.
the location and private bathroom is great for the price you pay
The group of people at the hostal was excellent and very close to the major metro stations, I want to extent and it was full and I move to el Iingles hotel and it was great too. Booked.net is doing great for me I travel extensively all over the world booking hotels with bookings .com and is working great for me. IḾ in spain now in thE way to Tangier and it couldnt be better. Thanks god I found Booked.net I do not even worried now about my hotels not a single dissapointement, it is great, tomorrow IḾ in my way to torremolinos and my hoterl is waiting for me. Good job Booked.net!!!!!!!
The location is great, within walking distance of many landmarks/museums and we were able to come and go as we pleased without having to leave our key. Also, they were accommodating about letting me extend my stay and the rate increase for my husband to join me was minimal.
The walls are very thin and so light sleepers would have issues getting good rest here. Also the room service continually moved things around and once hung up a towel that had been on the bathroom floor, not a very hygienic practice and I was glad that I realized what had happened. The bed in our room was rather small but we are not tall/big people so it was not an issue for us, but I could see it causing problems for others.
We love staying at Hostal Cervantes. This was our 4th time in the last 12 years (we travel to Spain every 3 years). We have stayed as a "mature" couple, we have brought our daughter, and this time we brought our son and his wife. The hostal is in a perfect location with everything within walking distance. It is clean and comfortable and Christian and Fabio are always helpful and cheerful. We always recommend it to friends and family and we plan on coming back again in about 3 years.
Perfect location, very close to Prado and other major views.
The staff was not always in the front desk.
